Regulatory and Legislative Guidelines for Customers, Affiliates and Users in English

Guidelines for Issuance & Operation of Pre-Paid Payment Instruments in India as Issued by the Reserve Bank of India.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released the "Issuance and Operation of Pre-Paid Payment Instruments in India (Reserve Bank) Directions 2009" on April 27, 2009 which became operative with effect from July 27, 2009.

Accordingly, the Customers, Affiliates and Voucher Users are required to comply with the following

For Customers

  • We refer to the Customer Contract entered with you for issue of Ticket Restaurant® Meal Vouchers and Ticket Compliments® Gift Vouchers for the benefit of your employees and other beneficiaries.

  • Customers are required to maintain the full details of beneficiaries to whom our vouchers are issued.

  • Payment instruments up to Rs 5,000/- can be issued by the Companies / institutions to their employees or other beneficiaries provided full KYC of the employee or beneficiary has been completed as prescribed by RBI guidelines.

  • Customers should make advance payment as the same needs to be deposited in Escrow Account on issuance of vouchers.

  • Customers need to provide information as per the Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Financing of Terrorism Guidelines issued by RBI. (click here to download the KYC Form). Customers are requested to intimate us on any change in the information provided in the KYC Form.

  • Customers are advised to caution the employees / beneficiaries about the expiry of the vouchers at least 15 days before the expiry of the vouchers.
  • The Company has entered into an escrow agreement with Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd and has opened an escrow account with the Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Nariman Point (Mumbai) in compliance with the "Issuance and Operation of Pre-Paid Instruments in India (Reserve Bank) Directions 2009"

Please Note:  We would like to remind all Edenred customers that according to our contract with them and in line with the PSS guidelines dated 27th April, 2009 issued by the Reserve Bank of India, they are required to maintain a database setting out full details of the employees and/or beneficiaries to whom the Vouchers are issued by them. Customers are requested to submit a copy of the same to us, as and when requested by us, within a period of 7 days from the date on which such request is made to them. This database should, in the minimum, contain the name of the employee / beneficiary and the booklet / voucher number issued to such employee and/or beneficiary.

For Affiliates

  • Affiliates need to provide information as per the Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Financing of Terrorism Guidelines issued by RBI. (click here to download the KYC Form). Affiliates are requested to intimate us on any change in the information provided in the KYC form.

  • Affiliates need to provide PAN Card copy.

  • Affiliates need to match the signature of the users on the reverse of the Ticket Restaurant® Meal Vouchers with the signature on the back cover of the Ticket Restaurant® Meal Voucher booklet.

  • Affiliates must accept Ticket Restaurant® Meal Vouchers as payment for “ready to eat items, food or non-alcoholic beverages” only.

  • Affiliates should report suspicious transaction or any other transaction supporting money laundering and terrorism to Edenred (India) Pvt. Ltd. on PSS.INDIA@edenred.com.

  • The Company has entered into an escrow agreement with Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd and has opened an escrow account with the Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Nariman Point (Mumbai) in compliance with the "Issuance and Operation of Pre-Paid Instruments in India (Reserve Bank) Directions 2009". Hence, all payments to our Affiliates will be made from the escrow account. Accordingly you are advised to contact Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Nariman Point (Mumbai) for your payments against redemption of our vouchers in the unlikely event of a sustained default.

For Voucher Users

  • Users/Beneficiaries are advised to carefully read the terms and conditions provided in the reverse of the vouchers and also at the website www.edenred.co.in before using the vouchers and the same shall be binding on the users/beneficiaries of the vouchers.

  • Users need to write their name and put their signature on the relevant boxes provided on the back cover of the Ticket Restaurant® Meal Voucher booklet, immediately on receipt of the booklet.

  • Users need to duly sign on the back over every voucher before handing it over to the affiliate.

  • Vouchers issued by us are valid till the validity date mentioned on the voucher and thereafter the vouchers expire. We send communication(s) /alert(s) to all our Corporate / Institutional clients on the expiry and the revalidation of vouchers at least 15 days before the expiry of the vouchers. You are requested to get in touch with the Corporate / Institution from which you have received our vouchers and refer to those communication(s) / alert(s) for further details on the expiry of our vouchers and the revalidation of the same.
